Cities and communities in East Belgium

East Belgium consists of three different parts: The area around Eupen in the North with the communities of Kelmis, Lontzen, Raeren and Eupen, and the Belgian Eiffel in the South, with the communities of Bütgenbach, Büllingen, Amel, St. Vith and Burg Reuland.

Besides the German language communities’ regions of North and South, the French language communities of Malmedy and Waimes are also part of East Belgium where German is still spoken.  These parts of East Belgium are simultaneous opposites and alliances, economically dynamic, culturally diversified, cosmopolitan, and touristic idylls.
